What’s Going On: University of Oregon School of Music and Dance

The School of Music and Dance and its lecture and performance halls are located in the Frohnmayer Music Building at 961 E. 18th Ave. on the UO campus.

The Russian String Orchestra will play an all-Viennese program featuring Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart’s Divertimento, Arnold Schoenberg’s tone poem, “Transfigured Night” and Franz Schubert’s “Death and the Maiden.”

Halloween Spooktastic!

6:30 p.m., Aasen-Hull Hall.

The annual family-friendly Halloween concert features the UO’s Trombone Choir, Tuba-Euphonium Ensemble, and Apocalyptic Brass, performing spooky (but not scary) family favorites in this early-evening program.

UO student performers will appear in costume, and children — and their parents — are encouraged to do the same. The program is a fun way to introduce small children to classical music in a welcoming environment.

Admission is free.
