There’s music and dance galore at the University of Oregon from now through early December

Coming soon at the University of Oregon School of Music and Dance

The School of Music and Dance and its lecture and performance halls are located in the Frohnmayer Music Building at 961 E. 18th Ave. on the UO campus. The Dance Department’s Dougherty Theatre is on the third floor of the Gerlinger Annex, adjacent to Gerlinger Hall near the intersection of University Street and 15th Avenue.

Matthew Halls conducts UO Choirs
3 p.m., First United Methodist Church, 1376 Olive St.
The Chamber Choir will play Baroque composer Agostino Steffani’s Stabat Mater, accompanied by strings and organist Julia Brown. The University Singers will perform Louis Vierne’s 1906 Messe Solennelle, also with organ accompaniment. Admission is a suggested donation of $10 and/or canned goods for FOOD for Lane County.

The goal of this new ensemble is to explore international dialogues between Western and non-Western musical traditions. The program includes works and improvisations by UO and other composers from around the world. Admission is free.
